St. Peter Claver RC School PG Visits the National Assembly of Belize

On Friday 31^stMay 2024, the National Assembly welcomed the students of St. Peter Claver RC School from the Punta Gorda District to it’s Chamber for a tour. The group consisted of 62 standard five students, 4 teachers and 3 parents. The presentation was conducted by Ms. Tiarrah Bedran, Parliamentary Officer 1 whereby they were given a brief description of the history of the National Assembly, functions of both the House of Representatives, Senate and the functions of the legislative branch of government.

The students also had the pleasure to see the Mace and were given a brief history of its design and the significant role it plays in the sitting of the House of Representatives.

The young students were very attentive through the presentation and did not shy away from participating and asked questions.
