Today was the last Public Hearing of the Senate Special Select Committee held in the National Assembly Chambers in Belmopan. The final witness to appear before the Committee was Ms. Dorothy Bradley, Auditor General, accompanied by Ms. Carla Faber, Supervisor of the Audit Team and their attorney Ms. Christina Perera.
At today’s hearing, Senator Aldo Salazar was absent, therefore, a Protem Chairman was elected, which was Senator Markhelm Lizarraga. Senator Courtenay was also absent, therefore, Alternate Senator Michel Chebat sat in for Senator Courtenay. Senator Dr. Carla Barnett was also absent.
The hearing commenced with the Chairman reading out the Terms of Reference and after Ms. Bradley and Ms. Faber were sworn in, Ms. Bradley gave an opening statement. The Committee then questioned her with regards to her report, “Special Report of the Auditor General for the period 2011 – 2013”.
The Public Hearing was adjourned at 2:30 P.M. With no more witness to appear before the Committee, the Public Hearings has come to an end and now the Committee will begin with their report.
