Today, the Senate Special Select Committee met in the Chamber of the National Assembly of Belize in Belmopan, to continue with their investigation into the Auditor General’s Special Visa and other findings Report on the Immigration and Nationality Department for period 2011-2013.
Present at today’s meeting was Mr. Elvin Penner, former Minister of State in the Ministry of Immigration and Nationality. Mr. Penner was asked to be present for the second time in order for the Committee to continue with their interrogations based on the allegations that are made about Mr. Penner in the Auditor Generals Report on Passport and Nationality.
The second witness that was present before the Committee was Ms. Georgia Bowen, Systems Administrator in the Immigration Department.
Chairman- Senator Aldo Salazar, Senator Dr. Carla Barnett, Senator Elena Smith, Senator Rev. Ashley Rocke, and Senator Eamon Courtenay were all present at today’s meeting except for Senator Markhelm Lizarraga .
The Meeting began at 9:55A.M. and was adjourned at 1:15 P.M.
