Yesterday, Tuesday, 12th December 2017, the National Assembly welcomed the Corozal Community College from the Corozal District to its Chamber for a tour. The group consisted of 115 fourth form students and 5 teachers. They were escorted up and seated in the gallery where the presentation took place. The presentation was conducted by Ms. Eudice Gibson, Senior Clerk Assistant, Ms. Mary August and Ms. Ingrid Soriano, both Parliamentary Officer I, whereby they gave the students a brief description of the historical background of the National Assembly, the composition of the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the functions of the legislative branch of government.
The students also had the pleasure to see the Mace and were given a brief history of its historical background of the design and the significant role it plays in the sitting of the House of Representatives.
