Madam Speaker Met with the Ambassador of Cuba to Belize
The Honourable Laura Tucker-Longsworth, Madam Speaker in the House of Representatives, met today, Tuesday, 19th January 2018, with Ms. Lissette Perez Perez, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Belize, in the Committee Room and Chamber of the National Assembly Building , Belmopan. Madam Speaker gave Ambassador Perez a tour of the National Assembly Building and a brief description of the historical background of the National Assembly, the composition of the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the functions of the legislative branch of government.
Madam Speaker Met with a Parliamentarian of Falkland Islands
The Honourable Laura Tucker-Longsworth also met today, Tuesday, 19th January 2018, with the Honourable Mark Pollard, Parliamentarian of the Falkland Islands Parliament, and Mr. Peter Hughes, British High Commissioner, in the Committee Room of the National Assembly Building , Belmopan. Madam Speaker and the Honourable Pollard had a discussion about the parliamentary relations between Belize and the Falkland Islands. She also gave him a tour of the Chamber and short summary of the functions of the legislative branch of government.
