On Friday, March 14, 2025, a lively group of 98 students, 54 parents, and 5 teachers from La Inmaculada RC School in the Orange Walk District paid an exciting visit to the National Assembly. Leading the school visits were Ms. Eudice Gibson and Ms. Tiarrah Bedran, who guided the group through this unforgettable experience. It was a day filled with learning, discovery, and a chance to see firsthand where the country’s big decisions are made.
The students got a behind-the-scenes look at the parliamentary chamber and learned all about the important role the government plays in shaping Belize’s future. But the real fun started when the kids got to step into the shoes of lawmakers themselves! In a mock parliamentary session, they shared what they had learned during the tour and were scored on how well they presented their ideas. It was a great chance for the students to show off their knowledge and creativity, all while enjoying a unique learning experience.
We would like to give a special mention to the outstanding and brave students who stepped up and challenged themselves during their presentations: Mr. Leo Mesh, Mr. Orlando Baeza, Ms. Shivannie Cu, Ms. Miranda Bainton, Ms. Kelly Tzib and Mr. Krystian Urbina.
