Thursday April 10th, 2025 — The National Assembly of Belize was pleased to welcome approximately 80 enthusiastic students from Hope Creek Methodist School in the Stann Creek District for an educational tour today, Thursday, April 10th.
As part of our ongoing efforts to promote civic education and democratic engagement among Belize’s youth, the tour offered students an interactive experience within the heart of the nation’s legislative process. The students explored the House of Representatives and the Senate Chambers, learned about the roles and responsibilities of the Parliament, and engaged in a lively Q&A session with our staff.
One of the highlights of the visit was a short presentation activity, where top-performing students were invited to share what they learned during the tour. These standout students received a small token of appreciation—a commemorative National Assembly bookmark—to mark their achievement.
At the conclusion of the visit, a Certificate of Appreciation was formally presented to Hope Creek Methodist School in recognition of their participation and keen interest in the workings of Belize’s democracy.
The National Assembly of Belize encourages other schools across the country to take advantage of this enriching opportunity. Educational tours can be arranged by contacting the Communications, Education and Outreach Officer. These visits not only align with the national curriculum but also inspire the next generation of leaders to engage with the democratic process in a meaningful way.
