On a warm Friday morning, April 22 2016, the National Assembly of Belize had the privilege to host a group of Standard Three students from the Corozal Methodist Primary School. Approximately 62 students, 2 teachers, 1 administrative personnel and 35 parents were present at the visit.
The group was greeted by Ms. Eudice Gibson and Ms. Ingrid Soriano in the lobby of the National Assembly then they were invited into the Chamber, where the meetings of the House of Representatives and the Senate are held. They were then given a brief description of the historical background of the National Assembly. The students were also given a brief history of the significant role that the Mace plays in the sitting of the House of Representatives.
During the tour, students were given the opportunity to ask questions that they had pertaining to the information shared to them.
