Children Parliamentarians meet their Parliamentarian Representatives

As part of the activities leading up to the 3^rd Annual National Children’s Parliament on the 11^th November 2022, children parliamentarians are participating in a meet-and-greet with the adult parliamentarians.  Today, 27^th October 2022, Children Parliamentarians, Ms. Azaraiah Chaplin and Adia Viltz, met with Speaker Valerie Woods and Honourable Kareem Musa, Member for Caribbean Shores and Minister of Home Affairs and New Growth Industries, respectively.

Ms. Chaplin who is a St. Catherine Academy student will be carrying out the role of the Speaker of the House of Representatives for this year’s Children’s Parliament. Ms. Chaplin was explained by Speaker Woods what it means to be the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the responsibilities that come with taking on such a role.

Meanwhile, Ms. Viltz is a Belize Christian Academy student. She had the opportunity this morning to meet with Minister Musa in the National Assembly building in Belmopan and learn about the role and related responsibilities of an Area Representative.
