The Honourable Laura Tucker Longsworth, Speaker of the House of Representatives, met with representatives of UNICEF, NCFC, the Ministry of Education, the Department of Youth Services, Restore Belize, the Ministry of Local Government and the Office of the Special Envoy for Women and Children to discuss a Children Parliament that is to be hosted on Wednesday, 20 November 2019, in the Chamber of the National Assembly Building in Belmopan.
The event will mark the celebration of International Children’s Day that is observed on 20th November and will have the participation of 31 students from ages 13 to 18, who will come to meet at the National Assembly building to discuss issues relating to the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
