The Public Hearing held in the National Assembly Chambers in Belmopan held today July 12, 2017, began at 10:48 A.M, with two witnesses scheduled to appear before the Committee, the Hon. Manuel Heredia and the Hon. Rene Montero.
The first witness to appear before the Committee was Hon. Manuel Heredia , Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation. Hon. Heredia was questioned based on instances whereby his name was mentioned in the Auditor General’s Report on Immigration/Nationality.
When the public hearing was resumed after lunch, the second witness, Hon. Rene Montero, Minister of Works, was present before the Committee. Hon. Montero was questioned based on several instances whereby his name was mentioned in the Auditor General’s Report on Immigration/ Nationality.
All Members of the Committee were present at the public hearing, except for Senator Eamon Courtenay. Temporary Senator Michel Chebat was replacement for Senator Courtenay. The meeting concluded at 2:17 P.M. The Senate Special Select Committee is scheduled to meet again next Wednesday, July 19, 2017, to continue its public hearing.
