Today Friday 18th November 2016, the National Assembly welcomed the St. John Vianney School from Belize City to its Chamber for a tour. The group consisting of 75 standard four students, 3 teachers, 1 school warden and 6 parents arrived at 10:45 A.M. They were escorted up and seated in the gallery where the presentation took place. The presentation was conducted by Mrs. Eudice, Clerk Assistant and Ms. Mary August, Parliamentary Officer 1 where by they were given a brief description of the historical background of the National Assembly, the composition of the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the functions of the legislative branch of government.
The students also had the pleasure to see the Mace and were given a brief history of its historical background of the design and the significant role it plays in the sitting of the House of Representatives.
